The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ichiro backs up against the cage.
It looks like Miyata Ichiro has been cut.
Diaz has a takedown stuffed.
Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Diaz plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

and Ichiro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Ichiro counters with a series of strikes. Diaz will be more careful next time no doubt.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Ichiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Diaz shoots for a takedown but Ichiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nice uppercut lands for Ichiro. That snapped Diaz's head back.

Diaz throws a wild hook but Ichiro just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Diaz gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Ichiro raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miyata Ichiro!
During a confident post fight interview, Miyata Ichiro thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
