PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jed Chandler (ranked 4242 p4p, 3585 weight class) and Kong Cavallier (ranked 508 p4p, 437 weight class). Cavallier comes into a darkened arena with his song building. he Young Punx - Ready For The Fight kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jed Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kong Cavallier!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavallier has Chandler up against the cage in a clinch.
Chandler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cavallier just stands there and leans against the cage.
Chandler is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cavallier to keep the fight standing.

Cavallier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cavallier has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Cavallier lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Chandler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chandler changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Cavallier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chandler's waist but Chandler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cavallier off to one side.
Chandler shoots for a double leg takedown but Cavallier sprawls well. He's pushed Chandler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jed Chandler. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chandler tries to free his leg and advance position but Cavallier is retaining full guard.

Chandler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cavallier's head.
Cavallier seems to have recovered his senses.
Chandler slips a nice elbow through Cavallier's hands, connecting with Cavallier's forehead.
Chandler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cavallier with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chandler is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chandler lands a big shot there that rocks Cavallier but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Chandler looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Cavallier covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jed Chandler!
Kong Cavallier was interviewed post fight and said 'I will be back. Better and stronger than ever!'.
