Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erasmo Bezerra (ranked 2177 p4p, 3174 weight class) and Phillip Ortega (ranked 276 p4p, 379 weight class). Phillip Ortega will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega misses with a series of wild punches.
Bezerra misses with a takedown attempt - Ortega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bezerra doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ortega connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bezerra shoots for a takedown but Ortega saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ortega! But no joy.
Bezerra looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Erasmo Bezerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bezerra shoots in for a takedown but Ortega shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ortega is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bezerra with a body shot.

Bezerra shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ortega is trying to defend but Bezerra finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bezerra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortega is trying to control but can't.
Bezerra wants to free his trapped foot but Ortega is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ortega has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bezerra is working away from the top position though.

Ortega avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Erasmo Bezerra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bezerra pushes a forearm under Ortega's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ortega is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Phillip Ortega was interviewed post fight and said 'Tough fight. I tried my best but Erasmo is such an elite grappler. Tough to stop that. '.
