Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Reed (ranked 912 p4p, 676 weight class) and Donnie Larkin (ranked 145 p4p, 103 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnie Larkin!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larkin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Larkin throws a jab but it's blocked by Reed.
Larkin throws a head kick but Reed moves out of range.
Larkin misses with an uppercut. Reed saw that one coming.
Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Larkin manages to avoid it.
Reed jabs at Larkin's body.
Larkin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reed moves away.

Larkin fails to land with a series of punches.
Reed throws a low kick, looking for Larkin's leg but Larkin calmly moves out of range.
Larkin was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Reed moves out of range of the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed scores with a head kick.
Larkin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Larkin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Reed - the referee stops the clock and Larkin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Reed. Larkin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Reed scores with a punch to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reed avoids a punch combination nicely.

Reed is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Reed catches Larkin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Larkin cracks Reed with a good jab.
Reed connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Donnie Larkin has been cut.
Donnie Larkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Larkin misses the jab.
Reed scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Reed has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Crapollas Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Larkin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reed.
Larkin works Reed's body with a nice hook.
Reed missing with a left hand there. Larkin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reed chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Larkin can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reed throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Larkin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Reed is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Reed looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Larkin throws a big shot that misses.
Larkin lands a leg kick that knocks Reed off balance momentarily.
Larkin ducks right into an uppercut from Reed.

Larkin misses with a low kick.
Reed shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Reed lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Larkin misses with a left hand
enabling Reed to counter with a crisp jab.
Reed throws a head kick that half lands.

Larkin is rocked!
Larkin connects with a right hand. Reed shakes it off.
Larkin scores with a jab to the jaw.
Reed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Larkin.
Larkin avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Larkin! But no joy.
Reed misses with a body kick.

Reed takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sloppy strikes from Larkin. Those never looked like landing.

and Reed counters with a head kick.
Larkin is still on wobbly legs! Can Reed finish him?
Reed is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Larkin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
and Reed counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Larkin! He's just covering up as Reed starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
