The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gean tries to sprawl but Foster drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Gean has his hands clasped together around Foster's back. He's all about the action.
Foster is pressing down on Gean's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gean is holding on for now.
Foster tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gean is looking to control Foster's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gean avoid being mounted?
Gean tries to roll over but Foster keeps him under control.

Foster stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gean to get to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Foster enables Gean to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Foster manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gean stays in close to Foster's body and controls the position.

Foster is trying to hold Gean in close to prevent damage but Gean has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Still in half guard, Gean seems content to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Foster throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Mean Gean has been cut.

Foster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Foster loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Foster wants to get up but he can't break Gean's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Foster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gean takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Foster clinches.
Gean looking for a takedown.
Foster is pressed up against the cage. Gean has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Foster down to the mat. Foster avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gean shoots in for a takedown but Foster shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sean Foster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mean Gean.
Foster plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Foster closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gean to the mat! Gean manages to get full guard.
Foster wants to stand but Gean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
