The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal connects with an inside leg kick.
James explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Masvidal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James.
Masvidal with a nice calf kick.
James scores with a kick to the midsection.
Masvidal takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses.
Masvidal leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Masvidal was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

No joy there for Masvidal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Masvidal sprawls well. Masvidal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet.

James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masvidal as he avoids it easily.
Masvidal scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Masvidal lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Masvidal takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!

James is rocked!

Jorge Masvidal spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
