Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rakeem Marley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shogun Silva!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Marley takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Marley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marley seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Marley drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Good standup being displayed there by Silva as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Rakeem Marley has been cut.
Marley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva checks a low kick from Marley.
Marley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Marley in his tracks.
Marley is rocked!
Marley slips a jab and a cross from Silva.
Oh Marley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Marley.
Silva throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Marley crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Shogun Silva!
In defeat, Rakeem Marley stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back better, jah bless'.
