The crowd seem to be enjoying Dunham's choice of entrance music: Im Forever Blowing Bubbles. Pete Dunham has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Dunham!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Dunham misses its intended target.
Steel Ii seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Steel Ii drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Steel Ii looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Steel Ii passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dunham is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel Ii throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Dunham felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Steel Ii thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dunham's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Steel Ii connects with a nice short shot to Dunham's temple.
We've been hearing that Steel Ii has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Dunham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steel Ii. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Steel Ii has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Steel Ii passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dunham!

Steel Ii is working for a guillotine from mount but Dunham frees his head quite easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dunham breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steel Ii tries to score with a low kick but Dunham moves his leg out of the way.
Steel Ii dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dunham. That did some damage!

Dunham swings wildly with an uppercut but Steel Ii uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steel Ii stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Dunham pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dunham has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Steel Ii.
Dunham misses with a hook.
Steel Ii scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dunham doesn't seem bothered though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dunham lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Steel Ii has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Steel Ii and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Steel Ii throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dunham.

It looks like Pete Dunham has been cut.
Dunham walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Steel Ii checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dunham is looking to clinch but Steel Ii is avoiding it.
Steel Ii jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Steel Ii fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dunham is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Dunham misses the jab.
Dunham misses with a straight right.
Steel Ii buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dunham takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And Steel Ii counters with a quick kick to the body but Dunham blocks it.
Dunham chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Steel Ii can pounce on him.

Steel Ii clinches.

Dunham manages to break the clinch.
Nice straight punches there by Dunham. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dunham.
Steel Ii lands a leg kick that knocks Dunham off balance momentarily.
Dunham takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Steel Ii fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dunham has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Steel Ii smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Steel Ii on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Steel Ii drops his hands momentarily and Dunham takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Steel Ii throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Dunham cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Steel Ii looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dunham is fending him off so far but Steel Ii persists. Nope, Dunham circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Steel Ii. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Steel Ii scores with a head kick. Dunham tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Dunham lands a nice looking body shot.
Dunham tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Steel Ii manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Steel Ii wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dunham connects with a nice looking jab.
Steel Ii is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dunham can do to turn this around?

Alex Steel Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Dunham counters with a nice low kick that buckles Steel Ii's knee momentarily.
Steel Ii uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dunham.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dunham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dunham throws a body punch but Steel Ii moves out of range.
Steel Ii was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Steel Ii misses with a takedown attempt - Dunham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dunham swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Dunham drops Steel Ii with a beautiful combination! Steel Ii stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dunham is looking for the KO!

It looks like Alex Steel Ii has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oh Steel Ii is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dunham with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Dunham is pawing at Steel Ii, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Steel Ii's nose. Steel Ii is badly hurt! Dunham pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Steel Ii tries desperately to hold on but Dunham is relentless in his assault! As Steel Ii receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Dunham away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Dunham!
