Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Alexander (ranked 2418 p4p, 2710 weight class) and Roberto Jimenez (ranked 335 p4p, 366 weight class). Marcus Alexander has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marcus Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexander tries to keep at a distance but Jimenez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jimenez stalling against the cage.
Jimenez misses with a knee strike.
Jimenez is trying to pull guard but Alexander has him pressed against the cage.
Nice body punch from Alexander - that landed with a thud.
Jimenez blocks an uppercut.
Alexander is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Jimenez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Alexander is defending well for now.
Alexander tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Alexander tries to work over Jimenez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Alexander lands with a left to the head.
Jimenez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alexander just stands there and leans against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jimenez is trying to pull guard but Alexander turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Marcus Alexander has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Jimenez.

Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground.

Jimenez is trying to get an arm triangle but Alexander is defending well.
What's Alexander going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jimenez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jimenez tries to control but Alexander wriggling away.
Jimenez is looking to work his way around to Alexander's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Jimenez is looking for a rear naked choke here but Alexander reverses the position brilliantly into Jimenez's guard!

Alexander is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jimenez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jimenez is keen to just control but Alexander is a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jimenez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alexander doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jimenez.

Jimenez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alexander knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jimenez prevents Alexander from improving his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Alexander throws a low kick but Jimenez avoids it.
Alexander takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jimenez lunges at Alexander with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Alexander's hand.
Jimenez throws out a powerful jab.

Jimenez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Roberto Jimenez has been cut.
Alexander pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jimenez is out of range and Alexander settles back down.
Alexander takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jimenez misses with a series of wild punches.
A head kick by Alexander - that's a beauty! Jimenez is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Alexander can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marcus Alexander!
Our winner, Marcus Alexander, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
