Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Coryatt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Bonin! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab lands there for Coryatt. Coryatt scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Coryatt slips a jab from Bonin. Bonin misses with a series of wild punches.
Coryatt thinks about countering with a head kick. Bonin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bonin throws an overhand right that lands on Coryatt's shoulder, as Coryatt tries to avoid the shot. Bonin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Coryatt counters with a stiff right hand. Bonin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A jab from Bonin misses. Coryatt swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bonin lands a nice looking body shot.
Coryatt lands a big head kick that sends Bonin to the canvas! Coryatt follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Coryatt! An out of breath Chris Coryatt thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
