Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hughes (ranked 2854 p4p, 1134 weight class) and Korben Dallas (ranked 379 p4p, 173 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hughes takes one on the button.
Dallas throws a body shot but no joy.
Hughes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Dallas takes the fight into the clinch.

Hughes is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dallas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hughes to the mat. Hughes regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dallas passes into half guard.
Hughes wants to improve his position but Dallas is controlling well.

Dallas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hughes has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hughes wants to get back to full guard.

Dallas wants to work for an arm triangle but Hughes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hughes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dallas pulls his head out easily.
Dallas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hughes knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've been hearing good reports from Hughes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Hughes wants to get back to full guard but Dallas has passed into side control.

Dallas has hold of Hughes's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hughes seems comfortable defending it but Dallas has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hughes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hughes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dallas couldn't care less - he's delighted!
