Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bledge Stevenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cecil DeMill! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeMill throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Stevenson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. DeMill is in Stevenson's guard. DeMill is looking to stand up but Stevenson won't let him. Stevenson is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DeMill stands and steps away. Stevenson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. DeMill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. DeMill is looking to stand up but Stevenson won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeMill decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. DeMill looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeMill wants to get up but he can't break Stevenson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. DeMill gets to his feet - Stevenson follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeMill fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stevenson to the ground. DeMill is now in Stevenson's guard. DeMill tries to stand but Stevenson is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevenson is looking to stand up but DeMill isn't so interested in that idea. DeMill wants to stand but Stevenson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. DeMill throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Stevenson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. DeMill is in Stevenson's guard.
Stevenson is rocked! DeMill stands up and waves to Stevenson to follow him. Oh Stevenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! DeMill shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and DeMill slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! DeMill lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Cecil DeMill! Cecil DeMill seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
