Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hammer (ranked 24355 p4p, 23800 weight class) and Stevie Starfish (ranked 642 p4p, 625 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stevie Starfish! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot by Starfish. Starfish looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hammer takes a body punch but keeps moving. That kick from Hammer tenderised Starfish's leg. Starfish is trying to keep his angry face on. Hammer slips a straight right by Starfish. Hammer scoring well with a low kick there.
Starfish will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hammer misses with a straight left. Hammer gets in close and instigates a clinch. Starfish's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Starfish misses with a punch on the inside.
Starfish is trying to break the clinch but Hammer is controlling him. Good body shot from Hammer.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Starfish is defending well. Hammer scores with a shoulder strike. I was talking to Hammer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Hammer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Starfish prevents it.
Hammer works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Hammer presses Starfish against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Hammer looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hammer works on Starfish's body with a couple of short punches. A short body shot lands from Hammer as the two fighters clinch.
Starfish takes a knee to the side of the body. Nice elbow from Hammer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammer unloads a knee to the mid-section. Starfish lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Hammer lands an elbow inside. Hammer prevents Starfish from breaking the clinch. Hammer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Good body shot from Hammer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hammer scores with a knee to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hammer scores with a shot to the side of Starfish's head. A nice glancing elbow lands by Hammer. Hammer lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Starfish is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hammer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Starfish to the mat. Starfish regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Starfish is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hammer dives into side control.
Starfish is looking to get back to his feet here but Hammer is keeping cool and he's managed to take Starfish's back. Starfish is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Starfish for as long as he can get away with. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hammer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Hammer dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Hammer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Starfish. That did some damage! Hammer clinches up against the cage. Good body shot from Hammer.

Hammer scores with a nice hook to the head. Hammer lands a nice uppercut. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hammer obliges. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammer lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hammer working Starfish over with knees to the body. Starfish is breathing heavily. Hammer scores a nice knee to the body.
Hammer is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Starfish can't fight it off and eventually Hammer manages to take the fight to the floor. Starfish looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starfish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hammer controls the pace. Hammer passes Starfish's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hammer moves into full mount! Starfish won't be happy about that!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Starfish is trying to stand but he's just given Hammer his back. Starfish felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Hammer just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Hammer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Further stalling from Hammer. Hammer continues to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Starfish is tapping out! This one is all over!
