Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Snakovic (ranked 3829 p4p, 3506 weight class) and Eric Meier (ranked 466 p4p, 431 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Snakovic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Meier! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snakovic fails to land the takedown. Meier shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Meier is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Snakovic controlling the position for now. Meier seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Meier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Snakovic sees it coming and defends easily. Meier wants to free his trapped foot but Snakovic is holding on for dear life with his legs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snakovic controlling the position for now. Meier throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meier looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Snakovic is defending against the submission attempts here by Meier.
Meier tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Snakovic. Meier trying to control from Snakovic's half guard. Snakovic has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Snakovic seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Meier looking to pass the guard. Snakovic is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Eric Meier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Snakovic dives in and grabs Meier's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meier pushes down on Snakovic's head and hops out. Meier shoots in and gets a takedown into Snakovic's guard. Snakovic has Meier pulled in close to control his posture. Meier with a nice head shot there. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Snakovic holds on and takes a little breather. Meier trying to control but Snakovic is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snakovic working for a triangle but Meier defends it easily.

My spies in Reach Around inform me that Meier has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Meier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Snakovic trying to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Snakovic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Meier gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Meier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Snakovic wants to sweep but no luck. Meier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Meier stopping the sweep attempt from Snakovic. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Snakovic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meier has Snakovic in his guard.
Snakovic got a little sloppy there for a moment and Meier has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Snakovic has managed to get both his arms back between Meier's legs - danger averted. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Meier dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Snakovic dives in and grabs Meier's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meier pushes down on Snakovic's head and hops out. Snakovic gets a takedown into half guard. That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Snakovic lands a nice short elbow. Meier on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Meier tries to get to full guard but Snakovic has control of the leg. Still in half guard, Snakovic seems content to control. Snakovic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meier keeps working. Snakovic scoring with strikes to the body and head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Snakovic connects with a nice short shot to Meier's temple. Snakovic is thwarting Meier's attempts to control the position. Meier trying to get back to full guard but Snakovic takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Meier is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meier is bucking up trying to escape but Snakovic cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Snakovic controlling his opponent. Meier is trying to escape the mount.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meier tries to lock up and control but Snakovic gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Meier is rocked! Meier is breathing heavily. Meier tries to reverse the position but Snakovic maintains control. Meier is still in real trouble! Can Snakovic finish him? Snakovic loads up with a big shot that hurts Meier! He's pulled Snakovic in close but Snakovic has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Meier survive? More strikes from Snakovic and Meier is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
