The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shittaker dives in and grabs Abiog's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abiog pushes down on Shittaker's head and hops out.
Shittaker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Abiog tries a head kick but it misses.

Shittaker tries to keep at a distance but Abiog has taken the fight into the clinch.

Abiog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Abiog misses with a series of wild punches.
Shittaker throws a counter combo.
Shittaker throws a head kick that misses.
As Shittaker looks to move away, Abiog throws a big counter combo but Shittaker just gets out of the way.
Bobert Shittaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shittaker avoids the head kick by Abiog.
Shittaker wants to counter the offense by Abiog and move into the clinch position.
Abiog misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Abiog takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Abiog has closed the distance and engaged Shittaker in a clinch.
Shittaker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Abiog pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Shittaker tries to break free but Abiog pushes him back against the cage.

Abiog breaks the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shittaker.
Abiog is looking for a counter combo.
Benny Abiog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobert Shittaker.

Abiog bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Shittaker wants to get back to his feet but Abiog is dominant here and he's now got Shittaker's back!
Shittaker wants to control his opponent's hands but Abiog gets his hands free.

Abiog is working for a rear naked choke. Shittaker is not defending it well and Abiog has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Shittaker refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Shittaker's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
