PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henri Jospin (ranked 2148 p4p, 3304 weight class) and Don Johns (ranked 283 p4p, 406 weight class). Jospin comes to the cage accompanied by Clash. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henri Jospin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Johns!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jospin tries to keep at a distance but Johns has taken the fight into the clinch.
Johns tries to stall but Jospin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Johns takes a shot to the head.
Jospin connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johns's face.

It looks like Don Johns has been cut.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Jospin as Johns tries to tie him up.

Johns's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Johns has an active guard here but Jospin has managed to pass into half guard.

Jospin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johns does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jospin is taking a breather. Johns says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Johns swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johns tries to close the distance and clinch but Jospin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johns on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Jospin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johns can do to turn this around?

It looked like Jospin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Johns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jospin manages to avoid it.

Johns gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jospin lands with a nice body punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johns swats away the attempt to clinch by Jospin.

Jospin drops Johns with a straight right hand, right on the button! Jospin follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
