Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Spurner (ranked 4290 p4p, 5073 weight class) and Bobby Mitts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Spurner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Mitts! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. A nice leg kick from Spurner, right into the meat of the thigh.
Spurner looks to land a body kick but Mitts moved away. Spurner takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Mitts takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Mitts has taken the fight to the clinch.
Spurner throws a head punch that misses. Mitts wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mitts using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Spurner has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spurner blocks an elbow strike. Mitts tries to break free but Spurner pushes him back against the cage. Spurner stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitts gets a trip takedown into half guard. Mitts not doing much here.
Spurner won't allow Mitts to pass to mount. Spurner looking for submissions off his back. Spurner has hold of Mitts's hands but Mitts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mitts trying to pass the guard but Spurner defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spurner has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Mitts escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Mitts! Mitts working the head and body with strikes. Spurner is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mitts's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Mitts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Spurner actively working from the bottom here. Spurner is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mitts pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mitts winds up and cracks Spurner with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Spurner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spurner tries to get out of the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mitts is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mitts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Spurner is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mitts pulls his head out easily. Spurner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mitts is pushing down on Spurner's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spurner is fighting to maintain full guard but Mitts has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mitts is working for a submission of some sort.

Mitts is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Mitts is looking to take a break and control but Spurner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Mitts dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Mitts lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mitts. Mitts cracks a nice hook into Spurner's ribs. Spurner blocks a low kick nicely. Mitts connects with a body shot that sends Spurner's belly button to the back. A head kick misses from Spurner. Mitts bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Spurner's head backwards. Mitts lands a head kick. Spurner smiles back at him and beckons him forward. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spurner takes a kick to the side of the head.
Spurner is rocked! Mitts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spurner as he avoids it easily. Oh Spurner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Spurner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. This has been an exciting period of action! Spurner tries to land a front kick but Mitts steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitts shoots in and gets a takedown into Spurner's guard. Spurner has his foot on Mitts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mitts works his way back into a safe position though. Spurner seems to have got his legs back now. Bobby Mitts has got the better of the ground game so far. Mitts trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mitts's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Spurner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mitts cracks Spurner with a solid left hand. Mitts lands a couple of digs. Spurner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mitts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mitts has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Spurner keeping moving, preventing Mitts from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitts is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Spurner is looking for a triangle here but Mitts uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mitts lands a nice forearm strike. Mitts trying to control the action but Spurner is working from the bottom. Mitts grinds an elbow into Spurner's temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitts landing a few strikes. Mitts blocks the strikes from Spurner.
Mitts is working to tighten his grip on Spurner's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Spurner has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mitts is really squeezing tight and eventually Spurner passes out! Mitts breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
