Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gustavo Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Rivers!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers lands a nice leg kick that just misses Oliveira's sensitive parts.
Oliveira looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Oliveira shoots in but Rivers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rivers connects with a nice looking jab.
Nice defenses there by Oliveira.
Oliveira goes for a double leg but Rivers avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rivers continues to drive forward.

Oliveira changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rivers fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Rivers might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oliveira haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Oliveira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rivers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Phil Rivers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Oliveira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rivers pinned against the cage. Rivers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rivers looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Oliveira takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Oliveira dodges the punch combination from Rivers.
Rivers scores with a one two! Oliveira had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Oliveira drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivers's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rivers duly obliges.

Oliveira closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rivers's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oliveira drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rivers dives on top into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Oliveira has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rivers is working away from the top position though.

Oliveira is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rivers pulls his head out easily.

I've got Rivers winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
