Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Niko Brown (ranked 4476 p4p, 5383 weight class) and Benny Goldstone (ranked 542 p4p, 585 weight class). Benny Goldstone will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldstone throws a body punch but Brown moves out of range.
Brown appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Goldstone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away.
Brown looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Benny Goldstone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goldstone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brown.
Brown works Goldstone's body with a nice hook.
Goldstone throws a head kick that misses.
Brown swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Donk. Goldstone catches Brown right on the button with a cross.

Goldstone's coach down at Shadow Warriors (KT) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Goldstone's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
No joy there for Brown, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Goldstone moves to clinch but Brown breaks away

and Brown decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Goldstone's guard.
Goldstone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brown is controlling him.
Goldstone is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Brown with a flurry of punches that miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Goldstone has momentary wrist control but Brown slips an elbow through the middle.

Goldstone is rocked!
Brown gets to his feet and stands over Goldstone, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Goldstone felt that one! Brown unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Goldstone from any more punishment!
