Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oliver Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Francois Mafumet!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mafumet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith is looking for a counter combo.
Mafumet feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mafumet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith wants to sweep here but Mafumet controlling him for the moment.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mafumet gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mafumet stacks Smith on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mafumet!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mafumet decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smith to his feet.
Mafumet scores with a takedown into Smith's guard.
Smith is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mafumet frees his head nicely. Oh but Smith has switched to an armbar! Mafumet is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
