Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dosh Oh (ranked 2874 p4p, 4143 weight class) and Nikolai Tsavieva (ranked 344 p4p, 477 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dosh Oh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikolai Tsavieva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oh shoots in and gets a takedown into Tsavieva's guard.
Oh lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Tsavieva working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Oh has passed into half guard!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Oh connects with a nice short shot to Tsavieva's temple.
Oh looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Oh slips a nice elbow through Tsavieva's hands, connecting with Tsavieva's forehead.
Oh is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Oh is nestled in close to Tsavieva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Oh connects with a nice short shot to Tsavieva's temple.

Oh drops an elbow to the side of Tsavieva's head.

Oh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tsavieva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Oh looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Oh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tsavieva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tsavieva is refusing to be controlled, as Oh sits in half guard.

Oh's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've been hearing good reports from Oh's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Tsavieva decides to stand up, so the ref orders Oh to his feet.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tsavieva! But no joy.
Nikolai Tsavieva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tsavieva gets caught flat footed, as Oh shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Oh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tsavieva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oh has managed to get both his arms back between Tsavieva's legs - danger averted.
Oh content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Oh is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Oh's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Oh passes Tsavieva's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Well Oh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
