Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, CJ Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chapman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chapman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Chapman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Watson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Watson!

Chapman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Watson wants to control from the top but Chapman keeps moving.

Chapman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Watson has picked Chapman up and slammed him! Chapman can't keep hold of the triangle and Watson manages to pass to side control!

Chapman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Watson off and has taken his back!

Watson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Chapman gets his way!

Chapman is trying to stick to Watson's back but Watson is turning into Chapman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chapman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Watson.

Chapman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Watson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Watson has escaped and now he's on top!

Chapman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Watson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chapman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Watson's back instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chapman is trying to control but Watson is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

Chapman goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Watson turns into him and now he's in Chapman's guard.
Chapman wants to stand and escape but Watson is having none of it.
Chapman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Watson controls the pace.

Watson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chapman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Chapman wants to control but Watson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Chapman throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Watson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Chapman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Watson circles away.
Chapman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
CJ Watson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Chapman.

Chapman shoots for a takedown but Watson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Watson drops Chapman with a left right combo! Watson follows him down to the ground into side control.

Watson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Chapman is still in real trouble! Can Watson finish him?
Watson cracks Chapman with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Watson immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Chapman is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Watson!
