Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Cena (ranked 24487 p4p, 4421 weight class) and Steve Jones (ranked 624 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Cena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Jones!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cena moves out of range as Jones throws a body kick.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Cena in a clinch.
Cena drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jones clinches up with Cena and pushes him back against the cage.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.
Jones takes a little break here. Cena wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Cena is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cena knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cena has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jones trying to control the action but Cena is working from the bottom.

Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cena but Cena pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cena.

Cena drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cena has Jones in his guard.

Jones chips away with some ground and pound.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones pushes down on Cena's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cena holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Jones not doing much here.
Jones wants to stand but Cena has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cena defends it well.

Cena tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Jones is looking to advance position but Cena won't allow it.
Cena wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones drops an elbow to the side of Cena's head.
Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Cena takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Cena gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cena trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cena manages to pass to side control.
Jones tries to roll over but Cena keeps him under control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones is concentrating on defense, preventing Cena from advancing position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Steve Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Cena falls off balance throwing a combination

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cena is working away from the top position though.

Jones is looking to control Cena's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cena is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is trying to stand up here but Cena is controlling him well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Cena tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Cena sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones swinging wildly here.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

John Cena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Jones.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cena or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad.
John Cena is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jones shoots in and bounces Cena off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cena pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Cena sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
John Cena has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Steve Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cena throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Cena showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
