Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Melo Motts (ranked 1740 p4p, 2747 weight class) and Mike KnockOut (ranked 240 p4p, 331 weight class). Melo Motts has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Melo Motts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike KnockOut!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Motts.
Motts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but KnockOut swivels and escapes.
Motts misses with a takedown attempt
enabling KnockOut to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melo Motts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Motts takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Motts has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from KnockOut finds it's way round the side to connect with Motts's head.
Jab, jab by KnockOut - just one landing.
KnockOut has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
KnockOut fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Motts closes the distance and clinches up with KnockOut, looking for a takedown. Motts pushes KnockOut against the cage but KnockOut circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Motts takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Motts darts in looking for a takedown but KnockOut gets double underhooks and turns Motts into the cage.
Motts is looking to control KnockOut's arms but KnockOut gets an underhook and turns him. Now Motts has his back to the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Motts looking to slow down the pace here.
KnockOut is trying to break the clinch but Motts is controlling him.
KnockOut avoiding damage as Motts throws knees to the body.

KnockOut manages to break the clinch.
Motts walks into a stiff left hand from KnockOut.
KnockOut connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
KnockOut digs a good hook to Motts's body.
KnockOut cracks Motts with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Motts shoots for a takedown but KnockOut saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and KnockOut counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Motts is breathing heavily.
KnockOut scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
KnockOut scores with a crisp jab that stopped Motts in his tracks.

and KnockOut counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Motts thinking.
Motts has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Motts takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

KnockOut cracks Motts with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. KnockOut has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Motts to stand back up!
Oh Motts is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Motts takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
KnockOut throws a shot to the body.
Motts drops his hands momentarily. KnockOut doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Motts staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Motts doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike KnockOut!
Mike KnockOut seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
