The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fern misses with a right hand
and Johnson Jr counters with a one-two to the body.
Fern throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson Jr.
Johnson Jr throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fern's head.

Fern is rocked!

It looks like Doug Fern has been cut.
A slow jab from Fern misses its intended target.
Oh Fern is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson Jr slips a jab from Fern.
Johnson Jr throws a big counter head kick but Fern avoids it with no problem.

Johnson Jr clinches up with Fern and pushes him back against the cage.
Fern seems to have got his legs back now.

Fern has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnson Jr clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is taking a good look at Johnson Jr as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Fern!

Johnson Jr is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fern will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fern is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Johnson Jr is defending well though. Fern let's go of the attempt for now.

Fern is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Johnson Jr with him. Johnson Jr is trying to defend but Fern has an arm under the chin now! Johnson Jr grimaces and is forced to tap out!
