Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Scherzer (ranked 1449 p4p, 5386 weight class) and Cai Chi (ranked 21 p4p, 105 weight class). Cai Chi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Scherzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cai Chi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scherzer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Chi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Scherzer is landing a low percentage of strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scherzer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Scherzer scrambles back to his feet.

Scherzer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chi sprawls well initially but Scherzer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Scherzer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chi is looking to escape.

Scherzer goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Chi turns into him and now he's in Scherzer's guard.

Scherzer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scherzer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chi pulls his head out easily.

Cai Chi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
