Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Aurelius (ranked 1364 p4p, 1938 weight class) and Philip Ziskie (ranked 156 p4p, 200 weight class). Marcus Aurelius has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Aurelius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Philip Ziskie! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ziskie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Aurelius counters with a straight right hand. Philip Ziskie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ziskie's jab looks to have found its range, popping Aurelius under the eye. Ziskie lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Aurelius bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Aurelius slips a straight right by Ziskie. Aurelius checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Ziskie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aurelius moves away. Ziskie defending well as Aurelius loads up on a big left hand. Ziskie tries to counter with a clinch but Aurelius shakes him off and moves away. Aurelius looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ziskie just misses with a punch to the body.
Aurelius throwing a counter right hand but Ziskie manages to avoid it. We've been informed that Ziskie has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ziskie misses with a straight left. Aurelius wants to clinch. Ziskie throws out a counter right but Aurelius avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ziskie gets tackled into the cage by Aurelius. Aurelius maintains the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ziskie. Ziskie blocking some punches.
Aurelius breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ziskie dives in and grabs Aurelius's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aurelius pushes down on Ziskie's head and hops out. Aurelius scores with a nice head shot. Aurelius throws a nice looking combination but Ziskie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ziskie scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aurelius falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ziskie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fighters circling - Ziskie throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A little feinted left hand from Aurelius on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. An inside leg kick lands from Ziskie. The fighters circle momentarily. Aurelius darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Donk. Ziskie catches Aurelius right on the button with a cross. A jab from Ziskie misses. Jab from Ziskie. Marcus Aurelius is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice defenses there by Aurelius. Aurelius takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Aurelius counters with a thumping low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aurelius misses with a double jab
and Ziskie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Aurelius is rocked! Aurelius gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ziskie gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Aurelius is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Ziskie! Philip Ziskie decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. Marcus Aurelius was interviewed post fight and said 'Nothing happens to any man that he is not formed by nature to bear. I'll be back!'.
