Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Paulik (ranked 4019 p4p, 24389 weight class) and Kazekage Gaara (ranked 462 p4p, 615 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Paulik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kazekage Gaara!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaara looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gaara shoots in looking for a takedown. Paulik tries to sprawl out of it but Gaara keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paulik manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Paulik throws a jab when Gaara was well out of range.
Gaara darts in looking for a takedown but Paulik gets double underhooks and turns Gaara into the cage.
Tony Paulik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazekage Gaara.
Gaara closes this distance looking for a takedown but Paulik circles away.
Paulik lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Paulik.

Gaara fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Paulik avoids it really well and circles away.

Paulik works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Gaara is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Paulik tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gaara avoids it.

Gaara drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paulik pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gaara goes for a double leg but Paulik avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Paulik continues to drive forward.

Paulik gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Paulik has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gaara changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Paulik fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Paulik closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gaara did well to prevent Paulik getting side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
