Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 1261 p4p, 2525 weight class) and Long Thai (ranked 181 p4p, 309 weight class). Bruce Chang is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Long Thai!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chang drives through and clinches with Thai against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Chang fails to land.
Chang tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Chang wants to stall.
Thai lands with a left to the head.
Chang misses with some punches.
Nice elbow from Thai.
Chang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Thai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Thai tries to land knees in the clinch but Chang avoids the damage to the body.

Thai's coach down at Crapollas Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Thai's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Thai throws a leg kick which misses Chang's front leg but catches the back leg as Chang tries to avoid it.
Chang looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chang avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Thai looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Thai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chang swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bruce Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chang lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Chang keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chang feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thais jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Chang misses with a low kick.
Thai connects with an inside leg kick.
Thai tries to clinch there but Chang circles away.
Chang was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Thai throws a body shot but no joy.
Chang takes one on the button.
Thai throws a leg kick but Chang checks it.
Chang takes a jab right on the kisser.
Chang takes a swing at Thai's ribcage but misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chang tries to clinch but Thai moves out of range.
Thai is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Thai misses with a looping right.
Chang cracks Thai with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Thai goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Chang will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chang has Thai pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Chang pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thai tumbling to the mat - Chang dives into Thai's guard.

Chang wants to control from the top but Thai keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chang looking to pass the guard.
Thai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thai can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chang is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thai loads up on a big right hand but Chang slips the punch.
Thai looks for the body kick but Chang saw that one coming.

Chang throws a hook but Thai avoids it easily.
Chang waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thai.
Chang throws the kick towards the body but Thai avoids it.
Thai wants to counter with a clinch but Chang pushes him away.
Chang sizes up Thai with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Chang scores with a jab to the head.
Chang misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thai.

Chang lands a big head kick that sends Thai tumbling to the mat! Chang takes a step backwards and waves Thai back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Thai is rocked!
Bruce Chang is winning the standup battle so far.
Thai throws a sloppy head kick and Chang moves out of range easily.
Thai is still on wobbly legs! Can Chang finish him?
Chang tries to clinch but Thai is having none of it.
Chang cracks Thai with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Thai tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Chang pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Thai is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Chang!
An out of breath and clearly excited Bruce Chang thanked Conviction for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
