Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ispa Perkele (ranked 738 p4p, 2061 weight class) and Paulo Lima (ranked 100 p4p, 273 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Paulo Lima enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ispa Perkele! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paulo Lima! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima with a poor takedown and Perkele counters with a stiff right hand. Lima throws a leg kick but Perkele sees it coming and moves out of range. Perkele half committed to a counter leg kick. Lima tries to clinch up but Perkele circles away and keeps his distance. Lima closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Lima tries to clinch and Perkele counters with a nice uppercut. Perkele scores with a nice strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Perkele checks a leg kick. Perkele looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Perkele circles away from the clinch attempt and Perkele counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perkele takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Perkele is looking to slow Lima down with leg kicks. Perkele lands a right hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Perkele throws a shot from downtown. Lima moves away and avoids it. Lima doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perkele counters with a nice uppercut. Lima shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Perkele defends it nicely. Ispa Perkele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Lima. Perkele stuffs the takedown. Lima misses with a lunging right hand
and Perkele counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. We've been told by Perkele's head coaches at Räkälä that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perkele lands a jab to the nose. Perkele looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Perkele with a nice cross. Perkele is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Lima swings widly with a right hand
and Perkele counters with a straight right hand. Ispa Perkele is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lima has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Perkele. Lima rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Perkele makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Perkele.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lima tries to clinch there but Perkele circles away.

and Perkele counters with a nice leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Perkele attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Perkele throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lima misses with a low kick. Perkele fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lima. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ispa Perkele dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Lima throws a leg kick and Perkele counters with a series of strikes. Lima will be more careful next time no doubt. Lima misses with a takedown and Perkele counters with a lovely straight right hand! Perkele lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lima's sensitive parts. A low kick from Lima is predictable there and Perkele counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lima takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Lima closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Perkele did well to prevent Lima getting side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Perkele controlling the position well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perkele avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lima. Lima is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perkele defends it well. Lima trying to control from half guard but Perkele is working away. Perkele knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lima on the ground. Perkele keeping control of the position. Lima looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Perkele is trying is best to control the position here. Perkele works his way to full guard. Good work. Perkele wants to get back to his feet but Lima is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Perkele is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lima tries to free his leg and advance position but Perkele is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lima looking to sit in guard and control but Perkele gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lima is trying to control the position but Perkele postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perkele stays in close to Lima's body and controls the position. Perkele's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Perkele pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lima is keeping the position for now. Perkele got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lima has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perkele has managed to get both his arms back between Lima's legs - danger averted. Perkele is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lima can do to turn this around? Perkele slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lima escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perkele gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Perkele controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lima is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lima might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perkele haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lima is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perkele is aware though and is defending well. Lima looking for subs off his back but Perkele has passed one foot through into half guard.
Perkele moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Lima. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perkele connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lima some visible discomfort.
Perkele is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lima's shoulder. That is not cool. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ispa Perkele dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Lima shoots and misses and Perkele counters with a right hand to the body. Lima shoots for a takedown but Perkele saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lima looks to throw a body kick and Perkele counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A lazy body kick from Lima and Perkele makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Lima shoots and misses and Perkele connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ispa Perkele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Lima. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lima tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Perkele counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima tries to clinch but Perkele moves away and Perkele counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Perkele lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Perkele getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Perkele cracks Lima with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lima looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Perkele finish him?
Lima is rocked! A low kick from Lima misses and Perkele counters with a nice right hand that sends Lima toppling to the canvas! Lima scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Perkele finish him?! Lima is still on wobbly legs! Can Perkele finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Lima glances at the clock... BAM! Perkele nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Lima crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Lima is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ispa Perkele! Ispa Perkele retains his lightweight title! A very excited looking Ispa Perkele made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
