PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adim Bulb (ranked 504 p4p, 483 weight class) and Nou Hematopoye (ranked 62 p4p, 61 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bulb might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Breaking Benjamin - Lights Out. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adim Bulb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nou Hematopoye!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bulb swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bulb scores with a head kick. Hematopoye tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bulb keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hematopoye.
Bulb takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bulb walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hematopoye checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Adim Bulb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bulb swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hematopoye jabs Bulb to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Bulb missing with a left hand there. Hematopoye was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bulb moves into the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bulb.

Hematopoye blocks an uppercut.
A body shot lands from Hematopoye.
Hematopoye breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bulb has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Hematopoye escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Hematopoye!
Hematopoye connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bulb some visible discomfort.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hematopoye is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bulb will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Bulb is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hematopoye is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Bulb manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Bulb wants to control but Hematopoye is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hematopoye throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hematopoye prevents Bulb from improving his position.
Bulb is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hare of the Dog Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Hematopoye is trying to control. Bulb wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bulb has hold of Hematopoye's hands but Hematopoye slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hematopoye trying to pass the guard but Bulb defending well.
Bulb makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bulb.
Bulb keeping moving, preventing Hematopoye from controlling successfully.
Hematopoye got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bulb has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hematopoye has managed to get both his arms back between Bulb's legs - danger averted.

Bulb is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hematopoye stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bulb swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hematopoye is fighting to break Bulb's control of his arms but Bulb is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Bulb is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hematopoye defends well.
Bulb looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bulb wants to sweep but no luck.
Hematopoye postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adim Bulb will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bulb throws a hook but Hematopoye blocks it.

Bulb fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hematopoye on the side of the head.
Bulb uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hematopoye.
Bulb tried to counter with a leg kick but Hematopoye avoided it.
Hematopoye throws a jab but it's blocked by Bulb.
Bulb tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hematopoye misses with a right hand
and Bulb counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hematopoye throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bulb jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hematopoye throws a hook but Bulb blocks it.
A low kick lands for Bulb.
Hematopoye throws a big shot that misses.
Bulb digs a good hook to Hematopoye's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bulb lands with a cross.

Hematopoye lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bulb backwards.
A right hook to the body lands for Bulb.
Hematopoye is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bulb can't fight it off and eventually Hematopoye manages to take the fight to the floor. Bulb looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hematopoye is standing up over Bulb. Bulb looks to escape but Hematopoye dives into side control.
Who's going to make the next move?
Hematopoye prevents Bulb from escaping the position.
A control attempt from Bulb but he's now mounted!
Bulb wants to control but Hematopoye is having none of it.

The referee warns Bulb that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hematopoye cracks Bulb with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hematopoye avoids the attempt from Bulb to control.
Bulb is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Bulb can't escape the position.
Hematopoye lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bulb is rocked!

Oh Bulb is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hematopoye unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Bulb wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Hematopoye celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
