PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Grayson Planker (ranked 4381 p4p, 2972 weight class) and Benson Kilo (ranked 0 p4p, 289 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Grayson Planker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Benson Kilo!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilo shoots in for a takedown but Planker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Planker keeps control of Kilo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Planker decides to pull guard.
Kilo stopping the sweep attempt from Planker.
Kilo wants to stand but Planker has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kilo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Planker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Planker has his foot on Kilo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kilo works his way back into a safe position though.
Planker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Planker pulls Kilo in close to his closed guard and prevents Kilo from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Planker is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kilo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kilo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Planker to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Planker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Planker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kilo can do to turn this around?

Kilo throws some strikes from the bottom but Planker isn't bothered - he's working on a kimura... it looks tight... it is! Kilo is tapping and screaming like a little girl! Ouch, that looks painful! Good win for Planker!
