Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Dante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dante shoots in but Short avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Short closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Short lands in his opponent's guard.
Dante has momentary wrist control but Short slips an elbow through the middle.
Short with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Short passes Dante's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Short lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dante is defending against the submission attempts here by Short.
Dante tries to kick Short off but Short keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Short is trying for a kimura here. Dante looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Short wins by kimura!
