Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benny Burns (ranked 3107 p4p, 4068 weight class) and Daniel Cormier (ranked 386 p4p, 497 weight class). Cormier comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Face the Pain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Cormier!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Burns closes the distance and pushes Cormier back into the cage.
Cormier changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Burns fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Burns kicks Cormier off and gets back to his feet.
Burns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cormier paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cormier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but Cormier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Burns tries to counter by clinching up but Cormier breaks away and moves out of range.

Burns has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cormier is on him like a limpet, forcing Burns back against the cage.

A less than humble Benny Burns misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Daniel Cormier was interviewed post fight and said 'You don't quit after you get beat. You pick yourself up, and you start rebuilding to accomplish your goals'.
