Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Collins (ranked 1266 p4p, 3251 weight class) and Ryo Hazuki (ranked 169 p4p, 361 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Collins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Hazuki! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hazuki tries to keep at a distance but Collins has taken the fight into the clinch. Hazuki manages to break the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Collins enables Hazuki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Collins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hazuki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Collins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hazuki, into his guard. Collins trying to move into half guard but instead Hazuki has managed to sweep! Hazuki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Collins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hazuki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hazuki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hazuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Collins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins keeping moving, preventing Hazuki from controlling successfully. Hazuki would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hazuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hazuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Collins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hazuki works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hazuki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Collins sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hazuki moves into full mount! Collins won't be happy about that! Hazuki jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Collins manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hazuki tries to stand but Collins is controlling his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hazuki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hazuki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Collins can't do much from the bottom here. Hazuki looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hazuki is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Hazuki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Collins is not content to let Hazuki control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ryo Hazuki dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Collins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Collins gets caught napping as Hazuki dives in and scores a takedown. Collins manages to retain guard. Collins keeping full guard, as Hazuki tries to pass. Collins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Collins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hazuki passes into half guard. Hazuki is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hazuki frees his head nicely. Oh but Collins has switched to an armbar! Hazuki is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
