PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between New Breed One (ranked 638 p4p, 923 weight class) and Adrian Picklesbly (ranked 42 p4p, 52 weight class). Picklesbly has chosen Pickle Song as his entrance music. Adrian Picklesbly told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adrian Picklesbly!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picklesbly jabs One to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Picklesbly lands a straight punch to the body, keeping One at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from One.
Picklesbly tries to counter with a clinch but One shakes him off and moves away.
Picklesbly looks to land a combination but One avoids it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Picklesbly lands a nice elbow.
Picklesbly told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
One goes for a takedown in the clinch but Picklesbly prevents it.
One drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for New Breed One. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

One has picked Picklesbly up - he's going for a ride! One dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One is thwarting Picklesbly's attempts to control the position.

One wants to control from the top but Picklesbly keeps moving.

One drops back, looking for a kneebar! Picklesbly looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Picklesbly looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Picklesbly!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Picklesbly postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Picklesbly looking to punish the body of his opponent here but One is avoiding damage well.

One is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
One is pressing down on Picklesbly's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Picklesbly wants to stand but One is controlling his posture from full guard.

One has his feet on Picklesbly's thighs here. He's pushed Picklesbly off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Picklesbly screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
