This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 11 losses; Chan Siam! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 39 wins and 23 losses; Rodney Holzken!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Siam is defended easily by Holzken.

Siam shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Holzken manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Holzken is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Siam defends well.

Siam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Holzken has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Siam has managed to get both his arms back between Holzken's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holzken is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Siam is aware though and is defending well.
Siam sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Holzken's guard.

Holzken escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Siam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Holzken wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Holzken is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Siam tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Holzken is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Siam's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Holzken bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
