The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peterson pushes Rodriguez up against the cage in a clinch.
Peterson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Peterson tries to circle away but Rodriguez has him pinned against the cage.

Rodriguez has picked Peterson up - he's going for a ride! Rodriguez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rodriguez lands a nice short elbow.

It looks like Jake Peterson has been cut.
Rodriguez content to control rather than advance.
Peterson is trying to stand.
Rodriguez wants to stand but Peterson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Rodriguez prevents Peterson from improving his position.
We've been hearing that Rodriguez has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez moves into full mount! Peterson won't be happy about that!
Rodriguez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rodriguez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That has opened up Jake Peterson's cut even more.

Rodriguez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Peterson is surviving well by controlling Rodriguez's body position as best he can.
Peterson is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peterson has left one of his arms exposed and Rodriguez doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Peterson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
