Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Balch.
Sonnen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sonnen gets a double leg takedown into Balch's guard.
Sonnen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Balch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonnen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Balch wants to improve his position but instead Sonnen has moved into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In his post fight interview, Sterling Sonnen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
