This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Maiki Taison! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 10 losses; Artur Azaryan! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Azaryan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Taison darts in and clinches Azaryan up against the cage. Taison is looking to take this one to the mat. Taison is trying to pull guard but Azaryan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Azaryan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Taison after a bit of a struggle. Azaryan can't get the takedown.
Maiki Taison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Artur Azaryan. Azaryan tightens his grip and picks Taison up, before dumping him to the ground. That's four minutes gone in the round. Taison has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Azaryan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Taison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Azaryan is looking to improve his position.
