Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Bandit (ranked 5383 p4p, 5779 weight class) and Luss Mota (ranked 543 p4p, 565 weight class). Luss Mota will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Bandit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luss Mota! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mota fails miserably with a takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mota. Bandit shoots in looking for a takedown but Mota manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bandit's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Robbie Bandit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luss Mota. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bandit. Mota appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mota shoots in and gets a takedown into Bandit's guard. Mota trying to control but Bandit is working from the bottom. Mota wants to stand but Bandit has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mota throws a strike but Bandit rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mota throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Bandit pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mota is keeping the position for now. Mota working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bandit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bandit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bandit controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bandit makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bandit is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bandit works a leg free and moves into half guard. Mota has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bandit looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mota with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bandit is taking a breather. Mota says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bandit winds up and cracks Mota with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bandit lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bandit slips a nice elbow through Mota's hands, connecting with Mota's forehead. Mota is looking for a sweep. Bandit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mota looks winded! Bandit is keen to just control but Mota is a slippery customer. Bandit is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mota is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Bandit trying to control the pace. We've been hearing that Bandit has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Bandit working Mota over with strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. Bandit looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mota is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bandit seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mota is staying active underneath Bandit, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mota is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bandit scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mota on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ground and pound from Bandit. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mota is refusing to be controlled, as Bandit sits in half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bandit lands a nice short elbow.
Mota is rocked! Bandit throwing shots but Mota is blocking nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Robbie Bandit dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Bandit stuffs the takedown attempt from Mota. Mota gets slowly back to his feet. Bandit feinted with a counter takedown. Bandit misses with a double jab.

Mota drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bandit uses the cage to get back to his feet.

That's going to take a lot out of Luss Mota. Mota is breathing heavily. Bandit throws a series of punches but Mota moves out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bandit tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bandit has Mota pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bandit pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mota tumbling to the mat - Bandit dives into Mota's guard. Bandit might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bandit scoring with some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bandit's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mota is looking for a triangle but Bandit pushes his legs off easily.
Bandit working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mota's head. Mota being controlled here, momentarily. Bandit is working Mota over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bandit engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Bandit scoring with punches to the head and body. Bandit keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mota's head. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Bandit trying to control the position from guard on top but Mota is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mota has momentary wrist control but Bandit slips an elbow through the middle. Bandit is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Bandit is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Bandit postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Mota is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bandit defends well. Bandit chips away with some ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bandit postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Mota on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Mota doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
