Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Daniels (ranked 1119 p4p, 1649 weight class) and Cyborg Reyes (ranked 145 p4p, 218 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clayton Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cyborg Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels needs to keep his hands up - Reyes had a free shot at his head there.
Reyes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Reyes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reyes misses with a hook.
Daniels drops down looking for a counter takedown but Reyes sprawls and moves away.

and Daniels counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Reyes!

Daniels wants to pass to mount but Reyes is defending the position.

Reyes felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels can't control as he wanted to and Reyes manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Reyes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Daniels tries to score with some ground and pound. Reyes controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Daniels tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Daniels has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Reyes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've been hearing good reports from Daniels's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clayton Daniels.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Daniels, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Clayton Daniels tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
