With a record of 3 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bledge Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stevenson defends it nicely.
Stevenson wants to counter with a clinch but Newton pushes him away.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Newton shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson shows good takedown defense.
Newton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stevenson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Newton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stevenson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Newton, into his guard.
Newton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stevenson defends well.
Newton seems keen to control Stevenson's posture.

Stevenson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Newton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Stevenson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Newton pulls down on the head and he's put Stevenson to sleep! This one is all over!
