Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Not Ponor!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ponor under the eye.
Ponor misses with a body shot.
Doe takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like John Doe has been cut.
Doe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It seemed like Ponor was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Doe throws a body punch but Ponor moves out of range.
Ponor looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Doe throws a poor cross that misses
and Ponor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Doe throws a hook to the side of Ponor's head but Ponor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Doe turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Doe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Ponor counters with a crisp right hand that drops Doe! Ponor lets Doe back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ponor! But no joy.
Doe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ponor looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Doe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ponor's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Doe connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ponor scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Not Ponor has been cut.

John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doe. Ponor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Doe takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Ponor with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Doe to score with a decent uppercut.

Ponor let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Doe tries to land a leg kick but Ponor saw it coming and moves away.
Doe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Doe lands a nice shot that snaps Ponor's head back.

Doe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ponor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Doe lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ponor at a distance.

Ponor moves out of range as Doe strikes.
Doe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ponor.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've been told by Doe's head coaches at Far-Q Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Doe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ponor, pushing him back against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice straight punches there by Doe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Doe.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Ponor might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Doe has got the better of the exchanges.

As Ponor tries to get set, Doe tries to push him back and clinch up but Ponor manages to avoid the attempt.
