Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Red Jesus Karter (ranked 3107 p4p, 3243 weight class) and Bruno Souppe (ranked 400 p4p, 421 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Red Jesus Karter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruno Souppe! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Karter misses with an uppercut
and Souppe counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Souppe throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Karter tries to kick Souppe off but Souppe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Souppe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Karter sees it coming and defends easily. Souppe is trying to control. Karter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Souppe not landing any meaningful shots this time. Souppe is trying to work for a kimura but Karter is defending well.
Souppe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souppe is trying to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Karter misses the shot to the body. A countering left hand to the body from Souppe misses. Souppe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Souppe gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Souppe thuds his right hand into Karter's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Karter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Karter lands a glancing blow to the side of Souppe's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Souppe avoids the body shot from Karter.
Souppe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Karter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Souppe manages to avoid it. Souppe looks like he wants to counter punch here. Karter drops Souppe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Souppe looks back up at him and smiles so Karter waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Souppe is still on wobbly legs! Can Karter finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Karter lands a right hook to the body.
Karter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Karter drops Souppe with a huge uppercut! Souppe drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Karter is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Red Jesus Karter! Red Jesus Karter decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
