Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Guerra (ranked 5107 p4p, 3501 weight class) and Ben Jamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Alejandro Guerra has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Guerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Jamin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerra connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Guerra thuds a left hand into Jamin's body.
Guerra digs a good body shot into Jamin's ribs.
Guerra lunges at Jamin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jamin's hand.
Guerra throws a predictable looking body shot

and Jamin counters with a single leg into guard. Guerra didn't expect that.
Jamin is working Guerra over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jamin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Jamin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jamin content to stall in guard here.
Jamin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jamin stays in close to Guerra's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Jamin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Jamin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jamin is pushing down on Guerra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Guerra is fighting to maintain full guard but Jamin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jamin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jamin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jamin stops Guerra from getting back to his feet.

Jamin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Guerra is rocked!
Jamin lands a big elbow - Guerra is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Jamin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Jamin!
