Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zaid Al Balushi (ranked 579 p4p, 337 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 89 p4p, 46 weight class). Rasmus Reedtz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Zaid Al Balushi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zaid Al Balushi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A good leg kick by Reedtz. Al Balushi lands with a thumping leg kick.
Reedtz throws a hook but Al Balushi blocks it. Al Balushi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Reedtz scores with a sloppy right hand. Al Balushi should have avoided that one. Reedtz darts in looking for a takedown but Al Balushi gets double underhooks and turns Reedtz into the cage. Reedtz scores with a hook to the body. Al Balushi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Reedtz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Al Balushi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Reedtz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Al Balushi manages to avoid it. Reedtz misses with a hook. Al Balushi ducked under it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Al Balushi. Al Balushi seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Reedtz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Al Balushi's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Al Balushi holds on and takes a little breather. Al Balushi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Reedtz tries to free his leg and advance position but Al Balushi is retaining full guard. Reedtz throws a big elbow that misses. Reedtz distracts Al Balushi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reedtz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reedtz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reedtz wants to control from the top but Al Balushi keeps moving.

A quick step to the side and Al Balushi tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. This has been an exciting period of action! Reedtz shoots in but no luck this time. Reedtz misses with a takedown attempt and Al Balushi counters with a right hand to the body. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Al Balushi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Reedtz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Reedtz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Reedtz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Al Balushi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reedtz. Al Balushi avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Reedtz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Zaid Al Balushi is winning the standup battle so far. Al Balushi fails in his attempt to clinch. It seemed like Reedtz was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Al Balushi has his head snapped back a nice jab. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Reedtz passes Al Balushi's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Reedtz is looking for a kimura here.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Reedtz works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Al Balushi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

and Al Balushi counters with a low kick, right behind Reedtz 's knee. Reedtz throws a hook to the side of Al Balushi's head but Al Balushi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Reedtz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Al Balushi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rasmus Reedtz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reedtz looks to score with a jab to the body but Al Balushi is just out of range. Reedtz shoots in looking for a takedown. Al Balushi tries to sprawl out of it but Reedtz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Al Balushi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zaid Al Balushi. I think Al Balushi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
