Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Hedegaard (ranked 806 p4p, 24844 weight class) and Petr Alexyev (ranked 119 p4p, 681 weight class). Simon Hedegaard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Petr Alexyev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Hedegaard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petr Alexyev!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedegaard's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alexyev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hedegaard scrambles back to his feet.

Hedegaard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hedegaard lands in his opponent's guard.
Hedegaard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alexyev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alexyev is looking to stand up but Hedegaard isn't so interested in that idea.
Hedegaard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hedegaard postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've been hearing that Hedegaard has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alexyev can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alexyev wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Hedegaard's hips, looking to push off. But Hedegaard grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Alexyev screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
