Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Monthouse (ranked 4052 p4p, 4849 weight class) and Jonny Boy (ranked 243 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwight Monthouse ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonny Boy! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Boy.
Monthouse shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Monthouse showed some decent athleticism there. Monthouse content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Monthouse 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monthouse thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boy's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monthouse perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Boy trying to control but Monthouse postures up.
Monthouse seems to be working for a kimura but Boy defends the submission attempt. Monthouse trying to pass the guard but Boy defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boy trying to control here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Boy thuds a left hand into Monthouse 's body. Boy throws a shot from downtown. Monthouse moves away and avoids it. Boy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Monthouse decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Boy's guard. Monthouse showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Monthouse wants to stand but Boy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Monthouse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy trying to keep a closed guard but Monthouse is proving a slippery customer.
Monthouse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Boy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Monthouse pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boy is keeping the position for now. Monthouse trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Boy manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Boy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Monthouse preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Boy being controlled here momentarily. Boy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Boy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Boy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Monthouse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monthouse . Monthouse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boy's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Monthouse sitting in guard here, content to control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Monthouse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boy's guard. Boy wants to improve his position but instead Monthouse has moved into half guard.
Monthouse working over Boy with some ground and pound. Boy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Boy tries to get to full guard but Monthouse has control of the leg. Monthouse is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Boy! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boy bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Boy looking to sit in guard and control but Monthouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monthouse missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Monthouse is stalling in the full guard. Boy is trying to control the position but Monthouse postures up. Monthouse 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Boy looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Boy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Monthouse with a flurry of punches that miss. Boy controls Monthouse momentarily but Monthouse frees himself. Boy looking for a sweep. Not yet Boy, not yet. Monthouse is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Boy trying to keep a closed guard but Monthouse is proving a slippery customer.

Monthouse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Monthouse has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Monthouse performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Boy wants to control but Monthouse is keeping busy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Boy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dwight Monthouse dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Monthouse scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Monthouse is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Boy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. You can see the frustration on Boy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Monthouse taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boy is trying to control Monthouse 's posture but Monthouse avoids it.

Boy struggling a bit here. Monthouse throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Boy works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Boy tries to roll over but Monthouse keeps him under control. Monthouse is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Boy is trying to maintain the position but Monthouse is very close to passing his half guard. Boy wants to get back to full guard. Monthouse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jonny Boy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boy throws a right hand that Monthouse ducks under and follows up with a left that Monthouse also avoids with ease. Monthouse moves into range and clinches up with Boy. Boy is trying to pull guard but Monthouse turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Monthouse manages to break the clinch.
Monthouse throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dwight Monthouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Monthouse takes the fight into the clinch. Boy misses with a punch to the body.
Monthouse is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boy can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monthouse lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Boy backwards. Monthouse breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Monthouse gets in close and instigates a clinch. Monthouse pulls guard successfully.
Monthouse working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Boy. Monthouse keeping full guard, as Boy tries to pass. Boy stops Monthouse from standing up. Monthouse managing to control the position. Monthouse looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Monthouse might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Monthouse works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Boy wants to control from the top but Monthouse keeps moving. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Monthouse tries to strike from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jonny Boy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boy misses with a double jab
and Monthouse counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monthouse seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Dwight Monthouse showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Monthouse , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
