Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Terell (ranked 4319 p4p, 4342 weight class) and Alejandro Girrand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Henry Terell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Girrand! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Terell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Girrand wants to get back to his feet but Terell passes into half guard.
Terell thows a huge punch but Girrand dodges it nicely.
Terell stalling. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Girrand can do anything to dispel that myth. Terell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Terell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Terell winds up and cracks Girrand with a swinging punch to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Girrand has his hands clasped together around Terell's back. He's all about the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Girrand looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Terell pushes past his half guard into mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terell working for a submission but Girrand is keeping him at bay. Girrand tries to hold on but Terell pushes him away. Terell in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Girrand tries to control the position but Terell now has his back.
Terell is hanging on to Girrand's back as he tries to escape.
Terell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Girrand defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Girrand trying to control the position but Terell manages to sink in the hooks. Terell controlling well, preventing Girrand from escaping the position.
Girrand looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Terell has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Girrand is in real trouble here. Terell gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Girrand is tapping out! Terell wins by rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Henry Terell!
